Our Motto:
心技体の融合
(Shin-Gi-Tai no Yugo)
“Unity of Heart, Technique, and Body.”
This phrase encapsulates the essence of our training. True mastery does not lie in physical strength alone, but in the harmonization of:
- 心 (Shin) – Heart, spirit, intention
- 技 (Gi) – Technique, skill, discipline
- 体 (Tai) – Body, health, endurance
Together, they form an indivisible triad. When integrated through training and character development, they create a warrior who is not only effective in combat, but also strong in virtue and spirit.
This emblem is more than a symbol. It is our creed. It is worn with honor, protected through discipline, and passed down with integrity.
The official emblem of the Sentou-ryu Sogo Budo Rengokai is rich in traditional symbolism, uniting elements of Japanese heritage with the modern warrior’s journey. It serves not only as a mark of identity, but also as a constant reminder of the principles we uphold.
Design Elements:
Sakura Flower (桜) – At the heart of the emblem is a stylized cherry blossom, a revered symbol in Japanese culture representing the fleeting nature of life (無常 – mujō) and the noble spirit of the warrior. Like the cherry blossom, a budoka must live with dignity, beauty, and readiness to fall in service of a greater cause.
Central Diamond Pattern (四つ目結び) – The four red diamonds at the flower’s center resemble a traditional family crest (家紋 – kamon), representing unity, strength, and generational legacy. They symbolize the four essential tenets of Sentou-ryu:
心 (shin – heart), 技 (gi – technique), 体 (tai – body), and 礼 (rei – respect).
Purple and Gold Ring – The vibrant purple (紫) border signifies nobility, wisdom, and depth of knowledge, while the gold trim (金色) represents honor, excellence, and achievement. This color pairing marks the wearer as one who walks the noble path of the warrior-scholar.
Bilingual Inscription – The emblem proudly displays both Romanized and Japanese text, reflecting Sentou-ryu’s international mission grounded in Japanese cultural authenticity. The outer ring reads:
SENTOU-RYU SOGO BUDO RENGOKAI
戦闘流 総合武道連合会
This bilingual inscription stands as a bridge between East and West, honoring tradition while embracing global presence.
Kamon-Style Aesthetic – The overall circular design and symmetrical layout draw on the historical aesthetic of Japanese crests (家紋), linking modern martial practice to ancient lineage and values.
